Prelude to a plot!

We're going to be kicking off our new plot this week, and to start it off…

Tonight, at about 3 AM (so, 3 AM Thursday morning), all communicators will suddenly shut off. Not go into sleep mode or just get dark; turn off, something they don't even have a button to do. This will last about an hour and a half. Around 4:30 AM, every communicator at once will turn back on with a zzap, and then… work perfectly fine again. In fact, due to the time all this will happen, you might just sleep through it entirely! Nothing will appear to have changed.

Sometime Thursday, the scientists (specifically Knowlton, since he's the one who did it) will post explaining what they did—remote download and install new software onto all the communicators. To do what? Well, to drastically increase their ranges. I wonder why?

There will also be a brief warning that "something is coming," and we'll unveil the full details of what is going on this weekend, hopefully Saturday, with the plot itself kicking off a day or two later. Questions, such as they are, are welcome!

MAY Activity Check

SOME THINGS ARE DIFFERENT THIS TIME AROUND, so read closely! Requirements have been changed!

This check encompasses everything activity-wise from the month of MAY. Any posts or threads done between the 1st of May and the 8th of June can be used for it! This check will run from June 1st to June 8th, and you have until then to check-in with all of your characters (unless you're on hiatus)!

-Requirements for the check are as follows:

*1 IC journal post from any time during the month.
*1 thread around 10 posts long (meaning ABABABABAB) from any time during the month in a different journal from your character's. This includes the logs community as well as commentlogs/action posts! Anything ICly that was done in a journal other than your character's.

If you can’t reach 10 comments in one post, you can patch together several posts to make 10. We don’t encourage this, however.

*Please note that we only use the HIATUS POST to determine who is on hiatus for the duration of the check. Please keep in mind that posting a hiatus note in the OOC COMMUNITY is optional, but if you do not post to the Hiatus Post and are unable to check in, you run the risk of being removed from the game. Please don't abuse the hiatus feature. If we notice a pattern with people hiatusing around the AC period every month, we will be talking to them about it.

*If you notice that someone has hiatused in the OOC community and not in the Hiatus Post, you can let us know. But, we will require you to link us to the OOC community post that they hiatused in!

*If you were unable to fill the requirements for all of your characters during the month of the check, you will have the Activity Check week to fill them. (For example, if you couldn't post for Bob in April, you can do it between May 1st-7th and still have it count!) However, if you use a post for Bob from the first week of May, you can't use it again the next month to check in with.
