PLOT, part one!

coniuratiAnd, with Q's post, the plot has begun! ...Well, kind of. Actually. Nothing much has happened in the city... so far.
First of all, as stated, Apps will be closed this upcoming week, and all apps will be processed the Sunday after next. Why's this? Well... the scientists are skipping town. Call it a vacation. Or an escape. Either way, the scientists will be out of Discedo from today until the 16th. And so, in addition to not bringing people into the city, a few more things will shut down, effective immediately:
But it's not all bad! The scientists have left a care package for the city in the park, containing a larger-than-normal amount of food (canned and dry goods, mostly), animal feed (for both the cows and the chocobos), and even some medical supplies—bandages, gauze, disinfectant, that sort of thing. Take what you like, but don't use it all at once: characters don't know when the scientists will be returning, after all, so you might wanna ration it a bit.
Otherwise? Life goes on as normal—at least for today. No explosions, no deaths, no sickness, no monsters... no airplanes. If you check on Knowlton, he's still in his hospital bed, certainly recovering but still utterly comatose. Aside from the warning and the package, there's absolutely nothing different in Discedo. It's just a sunny day in October. Today.

- The scientists will not be reviving anyone that dies. Don't worry! Nothing's happening today, and when they return, revivals will pick up as usual, but for the next two weeks, death will stick a bit longer than usual. Feel free to die as usual, but bear the new revival time in mind!
- The scientists will not be granting requests, or providing supplies: food will not be restocked in the stores, there will be no animal feed in the barn, and any other such service will also be canceled.
- Obviously, they won't be answering people if called for!
- There will be no Spectavi post next Sunday, as was implied yesterday. (FYI, the weather next week will be pretty much the same as this week.)
