Ladies and gentlemen, once again it's the 10th of the month. Normally, I would be starting the Activity Check today, but this month? That's not going to be the case. We think it's time we change things up a bit, so we're trying something new with the AC this month.

Don't immediately start getting worried, though, because this means we're changing the AC dates as well! From now on, it will take place during the first week of every month. That'll be the 1st through the 7th, easy to remember!

Okay, so now for the changes.

First, instead of us posting a list of the characters that haven't posted, we'll be implementing a check-in system. That means, you comment to the post with the filled requirements for your character, and you'll be taken off the AC list. Two days before the check ends (that'll be the 5th of the month, of course), we'll post a list of the journals that have yet to post to the AC check-in. Then, on the 7th, everyone that hasn't checked in (or is not on hiatus) will be removed from the game.

Second, we are changing the Activity Check requirements. They will now be as follows:
-1 journal post, per character, for the month, and:
-1 thread in any journal but their own, from the past 2 weeks. This includes commentlogs/actionspam, as well as logs in the logs community. This thread needs to be at least 20 comments long total if it's a thread between two characters, meaning 10 comments per character, at least. If it's a thread between 3 characters, it'd have to be at least 30 comments total (again, 10 comments per character), 4 characters would be 40 comments total, etc. Combos only count as one comment. :P

We want to encourage people to tag around a lot more than is being done lately, and that's why we're switching up the requirements.

Third: hiatuses. THIS IS IMPORTANT, so please listen up! The HIATUS POST has undergone a little bit of a change, as you might have noticed. We now request (and, really, require) that every comment to the Hiatus Post include an end date for the hiatus. This is a rough estimation, and we DO give a few days of allowance in case you can't get back immediately. But we do need a date. Also, please be aware that, unless you talk to a moderator, the longest one hiatus can last is ONE MONTH. Otherwise we need to hear from you before extending your hiatus.

The hiatus post is cleaned up once a month before the start of the Activity Check. If you can? Please delete your own hiatus notes that no longer apply to you, such as when you return from hiatus or drop a character.

Now, a lot of people still don't really use the hiatus post when they take a leave of absence. That's not cool, guys. The post is there for a reason, please use it. If for some reason you can't, and someone you know can't post for you, you risk being removed from the game in the Activity Check. If you know someone is on the Activity Check but has posted to the OOC comm (please try to avoid posting only in the OOC community, please try to use the hiatus post), you can still slide us a reminder. But please be aware that we will only be accepting comments that link to the player's Hiatus Post in the OOC community.

Fourth, and last: if you can't fulfill the requirements before the AC begins, you do have the entire Activity Check period to fill them, as well. Of course, filling them throughout the month would be ideal, and we would discourage putting it off until the absolute last minute. But anything through the 7th will fit for the activity check. But please be aware that if you use something between the 1st and 7th for the AC of one month, it won't be able to count for the month after.

The next Activity Check will, with this stuff in mind, be starting on April 1st. This is a big change, understandably, so if you have questions, post them here!

EDIT; This post has given us some feedback and points to take into consideration, thanks for your input everyone! Because of that, we'll be talking about some of these points (and adding the answers to a couple questions asked in the post) and putting up a revised outline of how it's all gonna go down. That'll be up before the formal activity check starts (again, it'll start on April 1st), so stay tuned for that!
