A few important announcements and notes

First of all, a few pages in Discedo's info have gotten a much-needed overhaul! The Timeline has been updated through September, the Scientist Request page has been officially re-added (and now contains information about what the Scientists restock, how often, and where, which might be helpful to everyone). Most importantly, we have updated the SETTING page to include several places in Discedo that have been added to and set up by players, such as the hospital and the Northern Lights.
We'd like to ask everyone to take a minute to check out this new information, particularly the setting page. Please keep us up-to-date on the various places and information that we should keep updated! On that note, the game development page has been un-friends-locked, so that people can actually update it with information as it becomes available.
We cannot ask this of you enough: please keep your information up to date. We can't update things if we don't know they've changed, and there's a good chance that we really won't know if no one mentions this to us. This goes for not only the game development/setting pages, but also the residence list, taken characters page, friend add/remove, everything. If you see information that needs to be updated, characters that need to be added or removed from a list, please leave a comment on that list or page and let us know. We're only human, and we do make mistakes. We update our lists once per week, and would greatly appreciate people giving us a nudge if they see something that needs to be added. This also means being responsible enough to keep your own information updated: if you canon-update, reset a character or change your contact information, make sure you make a note of it in the taken character list. If you go on hiatus, make a comment (or ask someone else to do it for you) in the hiatus post. If you drop, leave a note in the drop post, et cetera. These posts are all listed in
discedo's main community information, so there's no excuse not to use them.
On a similar note, we received a lot of opinions in our feedback post (which we are getting through, slowly but surely; pardon our slowness and please accept our sincerest apologies for that, it's a bit of a hectic time of year) regarding the setting and atmosphere of Discedo.
Yes, Discedo is a survival horror game. Conditions are not fabulous. However, the setting is as realistic as the players make it, and that means that if you would like to address the scarce supplies, the germs and bacteria that inhabit the city, any of those details, we always encourage that. We trust our players to do so without needing moderator nudging. We ask that everyone please keep the setting in mind while playing in the game. This applies not only to the survival-horror setting, but to creating and organizing establishments, stores, clubs, restaurants, anything you could think of. Those organizations are all player-created and player-run with mod support, however, we cannot provide mod support to something that doesn't exist yet. If you or your character wishes to open something similar, please do, and please don't hesitate to ask for our help in the process.
Additionally, we always encourage player feedback; even when we don't have a feedback post like the one we did a few weeks ago, we do have the plot suggestion and concerns&inquiries posts if you ever have need of using them.
Our activity checks are also receiving an overhaul. From now on, any journal name that appears twice in a row on activity checks will receive a star (*) beside it, and will need to contact us in order to reclaim their character. Anyone that is on the list three times in a row without speaking to us will be removed from the list. (This will not apply to people who are actually on hiatus, but again, PLEASE, if you go on hiatus, use the hiatus post to AVOID being added to the Activity Check altogether!) Discedo is a large game, and we have a lot of characters who barely slip by each activity check, therefore skirting the rules of two posts per month (or, one post every two weeks). If you notice anyone sneaking by activity check that is not addressed, someone not on the list that you feel should be, or a journal name that is mistyped, please bring it to our attention.
In addition, please note that the activity check always takes place on the same dates: the 10th through the 17th of every month.
We have two more important announcements coming up later tonight or tomorrow, but for now, that's all! Thanks for reading. ♥
