JUST A FEW THINGS.

Just a few quick things!
FIRSTLY. ... thanks for the birthday wishes. |D;;;
SECONDLY. You may have seen that we haven't processed applications for a little while; never fear! We haven't forgotten - we're simply choosing to hold off on accepting them until the current events have settled down a little. We'll get onto them as soon as we can - we just don't want about a dozen people popping into the city in the middle of a killing spree, and being even more confused than they need to be.
That being said... it brings me to my THIRDLY. We ended up having three player events running at the same time, and a few concerns were raised about that. The bottom line? ALL PLAYER EVENTS HAVE TO BE RUN BY A MODERATOR FIRST. No ifs, buts, or maybes. If it's something that affects more than two or three people, the moderators need to be informed. Not just for courtesy's sake, but so that we can ensure it doesn't overlap with any plot we may have planned. We don't want too much to go on at once, and for everyone to get lost in the frantic truckload of posts. Some people do get mod approval first, and that's fantastic! But the current mush of events is the result of one player not mentioning their idea to a mod - and no, in the ooc chatroom doesn't count. Permission MUST be granted beforehand, and if it isn't, then we will stop your event from going ahead! It sounds harsh, but them's the rules.
And that in turn brings me to my last point. If you're running an event, it's important that you try and involve as many people as you can, and don't leave people out if they ask to be involved. It's understandable that there are only a few slots open for some events, but people who volunteered for the last couple of events should wait a little while and let others have a go. Additionally, even if they aren't being murdered/cursed/whatever, there has to be some other way for them to become involved, so that they don't feel like they can't get a grip on whatever you've got running.
Don't forget that there are a lot of players on different timezones, and some miss out on the chance because all of the slots are filled up too quickly. If we have to start keeping lists of who volunteered for what, we will, but honestly? I don't really want to go that far. The bottom line is: please try and involve other players more. We shouldn't have to treat people like they're in kindergarten! We're not pointing fingers, either - this isn't just a recent trend or anything. I'm not expecting all of Discedo to start singing "Kumbaya" around a fireplace either - just don't forget to give others a chance!
If you feel I'm wrong for asking this, then by all means mention it here, but too many have felt that it's impossible to get involved or that they've been ignored when they've asked to. The player events have been absolutely fantastic, and we mods highly encourage and appreciate that people want to put their ideas forward - as do the players! Having just mod run stuff would be boring, but more comm-wide interaction would be awesome. ♥
... before I repeat myself too much, I'll leave it there. Any comments/questions/concerns, leave them here!
