1. first day
Catch up with old friends, brave new teachers, fight your way through the sea of students, and hope you're in the right classroom. Oh, you're the new kid. Well, that's okay as long as you've got more than enough summer vacation anecdotes to fill ten pages of Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced.

2. first period
You're gonna be late! Or are you already there? Class hasn't started just yet, so chat it up or copy your classmate's homework before the teacher gets here.

3. lesson proper
You're probably diligently taking notes, looking out the window daydreaming or reciting in class, much to your teacher's delight - or dismay. Try not to be too obvious when counting down the minutes and pass that note as discreetly as possible.

4. faculty
Have a bone to pick with your terror math teacher. A crush on the cute chemistry teacher? There might be something you want to ask your homeroom teacher about. In any case, you plan on seeing a faculty member today. Or maybe they plan on seeing you!

5. lunch break
Man, you are starving. Hopefully, today's menu has something good. If the crowded cafeteria's not your thing, try the rooftop.

6. hooky
One of you is skipping class. You should try talking them out of it if that's your thing.

7. detention
What on earth did you do to get this? Oh well. Detention can't be that bad when you've got all these very nice, approachable model students around to talk to.

8. p.e.
Baseball, basketball, dodgeball - no matter the sport, just remember: you are the star. It's you. At least, you hope it is.

9. home ec.
Sewing! Cooking! ... Try not to burn the school down!

Oh boy, oh boy, being the star of this play is your dream. It isn't? Oh. You're still helping with the props and costumes, right?

If you need to look something up or just want some peace and quiet, this is the place. Whatever you do, shh, people are trying to read.

Whether they take the form of Nelson Muntz or Regina George, if you choose to meet them at the gym at four o' clock or else, be ready to face the consequences... or maybe you don't have to. Not when someone's here to help you out. (This can go either way - one of the participants can be the bully or someone helping the victim.)

You're having trouble with a class or you're trying to make up for the days you were absent. It's a good thing someone was nice enough to offer their assistance.

Assuming that you actually have one. Are you writing for the school paper? Part of the student council? The marching band? Maybe you're a member of one of those weird occult clubs or something...

[ Suigetsu straightens, using those few inches of height he has on Sasuke to his advantage. ]

[ Sasuke pauses momentarily at the sound of the door opening, not even looking back to acknowledge it since the footsteps and carefree voices that followed signaled nothing amiss. ]

Don't I? [ Smooth as satin. ]

[ Suigetsu levels Sasuke, eyes a slow burn from the prideful anger bubbling heavily in the pit of his stomach. ]

You know, Sasuke... addicts say it's frighteningly easy to relapse... [ His eyes slip closed, pointing at the door leading to the gymnasium and the people outside. ] Hurting people always seemed enjoyable, you know? Then along came a snake like you... hm~

You may have helped me out once, but... that violent craving's always there, you know? Always tempting.

Is that supposed to be a threat?

Anytime and anywhere, I'll combat those urges that you might have. I think probably I'm the only one suited for the job, which is why you'll stay close.

Don't fuck up, or you'll risk that. Unnatural people get sent away to be reformed.

They can try all they like to reform me...

[ Suigetsu leans forward, speaking through his teeth, lips curled into a tight smirk. ] But you can't draw poison out of a stale wound. [ The murderous expression holds for a few beats, eyes fixed on that defiant pair, sharp as the knives he adores.

Until he leans back, pressing his head against the wall, silent laughter growing loud. ]

I got a lot of urges, Sasuke-kun, I just hope you can keep up.

[ It's moments like this one that remind him just what a risk staying around Suigetsu carries with it. As much as he might try to keep him contained, well... he's not immune to bad influences himself. That single look causes a stirring in him, a reminder that he craves that violence just as much as Suigetsu does. ]

... Guys like me keep fighting long after our bodies tell us to stop. I'm tougher than I look, tough enough for you.

Is that right, Sasuke?

[ Suigetsu jerks his arms against Sasuke's hold abruptly to shake him up, keep him on his toes; he smiles all the while. ]

Sometimes I doubt that.

[ That little stunt more than does its job, too, causing dark eyes to widen a fraction and Sasuke's grip to loosen as he takes a small step back. One hand moves suddenly, finding Suigetsu's neck reflexively before Sasuke can manage to stop himself. For a second he can feel his pulse--

He quickly withdraws that hand, even glancing back in a search for prying eyes. ]

You should be more cautious. Or haven't you heard the phrase 'playing with fire' before? [ He sounds only slightly more tense than usual, almost irritated. ]

[ Tilting his chin up when the hand closes around his throat, Suigetsu's smile never falters.

Instead it grows broader, sharper when Sasuke pulls back. Don't worry, the prying eyes would be far too frightened to tattle on them anyway. Chuckling breathlessly, touching the skin of his neck, he nods along with what he's saying, waving a hand. ]

Of course I have, Sasuke. But people don't truly learn lessons until they experience them.

Maybe one day I'll burn.

[ It's that look, the little smile that pisses him off. And yet Sasuke manages to keep it contained beneath the surface as always, the intensity in his stare serving as the only hint of his true emotions. Would that smile still get under his skin in the same way if Suigetsu's eye were purpled and swollen, or if his lip were bloodied? Or perhaps even if his classmate were on his knees, looking upward at him... Those thoughts are pushed away for now. ]

Ah, eventually, if you continue as you have been. It won't be a good experience for either of us.

On the contrary, Sasuke- [ he begins, knowing full well that Sasuke's kind of fire is the most dangerous kind to be playing with.

But it's the hottest, the brightest and it's his, even if the Uchiha didn't know it himself yet. Suigetsu obsessed over danger, it's the way he preferred to live his life: on the edge, always wanting to be on his toes, always searching for a new challenge to drive him. He needn't look much further when his partner was before him.

So he just can't stop smiling, because this is when he's most happy ] -I think it'll be the best experience for people like us.

[ Upon feeling that anger or having it stirred up inside of him at times like these, Sasuke can't fight the thought that while being calm, in control, and even moderately peaceful is what he might aspire to, having Suigetsu around is what he actually needs. It's strange; with so many people looking to him or trying to get his attention on a daily basis, why is it Suigetsu that prompts such a reaction? Not even a friend so much as a person he's accepted into his life, almost as a belonging. ]

Don't act so full of yourself. I'm not risking anything for you. [ He already has. It's a test of his control just being around him. Finally Sasuke pulls back, turning away finally to go after his own -- thankfully dry -- clothes. ]

I think- [ he begins, relaxing against the wall, running his fingers over the cool surface, feeling it sturdy beneath his hands ] -you would.

You're nicer than you think, maybe it's 'cause you transferred from Konoha, but... [ Rather pleased, Suigetsu secures his towel, making sure it's tight enough to stay up -- wouldn't want to scare the girls, now would we -- he smiles and steps after him, crashing onto a bench nearby. ]

Well, I won't say anymore, you're already angry at me, heh!

Put on your fucking clothes... [ This he mutters quietly, more or less proving Suigetsu's point despite his own reluctance to do so. The last thing he feels like talking about is that oh-so-mysterious transfer of his; it's too early for that sort of dramatic shit. ]

I already know that you were late for your first class today, again. Stop making that a habit. Get up and don't be late for the next one. [ Dextrous fingers fasten his pants' buckle, shirt tugged on and slowly buttoned afterward. ]

[ Irk. ]

I don't have any to put on...! I can't just magic up dry clothes and these are soaked, I'd chafe so bad. [ He tucks a hand between his legs, blocked by the towel, making a face.

Watching Sasuke methodically pull his clothes on however and berate him at the same time, Suigetsu sighs obnoxiously and flaps his free fingers behind the other's back, mouthing 'blah blah blah'. ]

Yes, my liege. Is there anything else I can not do for you today?

Tch. [ Suddenly a shirt is tossed directly at his nude companion, with him being offered little to no time to react before a pair of heavier pants followed. ]

I left them in my bag for emergencies. They're old; I've outgrown them. They won't fit you comfortably. Put them on. [ Just remember that you were the one who insisted that he was "too nice", Suigetsu. ]

Obey me sometimes and I will find a way to pay you back later.

[ The shirt is caught, turned over and shaken out. ] Sasuke, this will be like a belly top on me...!

[ Casually grinding the heel of his palm against a tired eye, Suigetsu gives a ritual "yeah yeah" before tugging off his towel, yanking the shirt over his head. Thankfully, it's not a belly top, Sasuke's shirts were long enough, but it was skin tight. Well, whatever.

The pants are a challenge. They look more like capris when he tugs them up. ] Oh my god, I look so gay. [ And that's saying something. ] I don't need payment, P.S. I'm not about to call in debts, we're pals, we shouldn't have to worry about that shit, ne, Sasuke?

[ Sasuke has no problems watching him dress and he knows that Suigetsu doesn't have a problem with being watched. The clothes are appraised, indeed causing him to stick out but not hardly as much as his nudity would've. ]

Then call it an incentive. Like a dog treat when a mutt doesn't piss on the floor.

Hurry up.

You really are a stick in the mud, you know that? I'm moving as fast as I'm gonna, relax a minute.

[ Smoothing down the front of the shirt in front of one of the mirrors, he turns this way and that, then shrugs. ]

Whatever, the shirt's alright. How does it look from the back? Pretty tight, huh? Kufufufu!
