Game Feedback: Stage 3

This is the game feedback forum to bring up concerns and suggestions for improvement to the game. This includes anything to do with the running of [livejournal.com profile] discedo from OOC matters such as how the Taken Lists are done to IC ones such as if the survival aspect of the game is being enforced enough. There are three stages to this forum:
»Stage 1: All comments are screened and players bring up concerns (anonymously if they prefer). Any concerns are valid.
»Stage 2: All suggestions are compiled and put up in a new post where the playerbase can discuss the different points and offer opinions and possible solutions.
»Stage 3: The modteam will discuss everything brought up in the previous two posts and put up a list of the solutions we've reached with player input. [CURRENT STAGE]

Activity Check
Starting next AC, November 1st through November 7th AC requirements will be changed. We will no longer require a post from characters. Instead AC will have the following requirements: links to 2 threads in any journal (yours, someone else's or [livejournal.com profile] discedo_logs) of which the comment total from your character between the 2 threads must equal up to 20 comments. If you need to you may link a third thread to reach the 20 comment count, but it must be in a different journal or log from the other two being linked. Here are some examples of what you could submit:

ex.1- 1 thread in YOUR JOURNAL with 10 comments from you + 1 thread in SOMEONE ELSE'S JOURNAL with 10 comments from you
ex.2- 1 thread in SUPER FUN LOG with 5 comments from you + 1 thread in CRAZY CRACK LOG with 15 comments from you
ex.3- 1 thread in SOMEONE ELSE'S JOURNAL with 2 comments from you + 1 thread in YOUR JOURNAL with 8 comments from you + 1 thread in SEXY XXX LOG with 10 comments from you

Basically you must link 2 threads from different journals/logs that add up to a 20 comment count from your character.

Applications During Plot
We will not be closing applications for most plots. While it is a valid point that people might be confused upon introduction that is part of the process when apping into any game. During long term plots we will make a note both on the reserves page and the application page that there is a current plot going on and upkeep a special page with a synopsis of the plot thus-far and links to all plot posts for anyone to peruse at their leisure. This post will also be linked to all accepted applicants to help keep confusion to a minimum. The only time we will close applications is if the plot actively hinders new characters and current characters from interacting together (such as the AU Discedo plot in April and the S P A C E plot in January in both cases of which a large amount of the in-game characters became separated in an unreachable space).

Game Feedback Forum
Next Game Feedback Forum will be January 1st. Depending on how things go then (a lot of concerns vs very few) we'll either hold Game Feedback 3 times a year (January, May and September) or 2 times (January and July). We will also leave all 3 parts public to allow for anonymous.

Game Plot Timeline
We are currently working on that and hope to have it up sometime within the next few weeks. It'll be linked on the Setting page.

Plot Lengths
Most plots (LJ cooperating) should last around a week at most. If there's a plot we know will be extending beyond two weeks we'll make sure to make a note of it in the very first plot notice for it and give the projected end date. If for some reason (such as the last plot) we can't be certain of an end date we'll inform the playerbase of the minimum length we expect the plot to take. We currently have no plans for more plots with finishing conditions such as the last one so this will most likely be a rare occurrence.

In addition we have a poll. We'd like everyone's opinion on what type of event to have for Halloween. The last few Halloweens have been rather cheery ones with candy and a few silly tricks so we were planning for something more scary, but as noted on HMD many people have been wanting a lighter event for the next event.

**WHEN VOTING IN THE POLL PLEASE USE YOUR DISCEDO JOURNAL, IF YOU USE A NON-GAME JOURNAL WE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DISCOUNT YOUR VOTE. WE WILL ALSO DISCOUNT EXTRA VOTES IF YOU VOTE WITH MULTIPLE JOURNALS PLEASE ONLY VOTE WITH ONE.**

About the Halloween thing,
Right as I'm writing this, the poll is currently tied.
If it ends up staying that way, is there any way we could have a holiday that's cheerful and terrifying at the same time?

The poll isn't actually accurate since people not in the game have been voting in it, but if that ends up being the case we might try doing something a little of both. We don't want to make a long or overly complex event out of this though so it'll depend on what we can come up with. We'll do our best though!

Now that I'm home and not rushing on my break FFFF if anyone has any suggestions (I saw some on HMD I know) anyone can toss them up on the plot suggestion (http://coniurati.livejournal.com/3416.html) post.
