Plot + House cleaning

Hey there Discedo! Cat here with some house cleaning + plot. First off please make sure you have [livejournal.com profile] spectavi and [livejournal.com profile] linquere friended. They will be used heavily for plots/IC game information in the future from now on and since they're now on the friends add this is the last time we'll be mentioning to double check this.

Secondly mod applications are open for one more week. They will be closing next Wednesday, September 14th. For anyone who'd like to apply, but has not done so yet you may do so here

Thirdly Cube/Tatsumi-mun is kindly making us some up-to-date maps since I have all the map skill of a turtle on speed. So to help with this, if there's anything you remember from past player/mod plots in Discedo (and there have been a lot) in terms of locations or things characters have built (the mountain town where several characters went to stop John Summers as well as the safehouse in Discedo are both good examples of what we're looking for) please do list them here so we can reflect them on the maps and future settings info pages! Just to be clear there will be a world/lake map as well as maps for Dissimulo, Spero and Discedo so any information you know wasn't reflected on the maps we had previously would be helpful!

Finally as you can see by the latest posts in [livejournal.com profile] spectavi and [livejournal.com profile] linquere there is some plot underway! Namely we have three new monsters in the game and here are their statistics:

In Dissimulo:
Ferals wiki
Powerful, skinless dogs who drip fresh blood wherever they go, these nightmarish creatures are agile, constantly on the move and looking for that next meal. They can most often be found cleaning the flesh off dead corpses, but they're not above taking down a living creature if they sense weakness. Encountered both individually and in packs, they attempt to pin their targets to the ground and go for the kill. Luckily they're no stronger than your average dog. Keep your cool, grab a make-shift weapon and you'll most likely survive another day.

In Spero:
'Angels' wiki
There's no mercy to these divine beasts, merely wrath and a deep feeling of rage. It seems someone's gone and ticked these creatures off to the point they're angry with the whole world. Serpent-dragon creatures with no limbs save for wings, these creatures have a nasty habit of swooping down and aiming to bite off anything they can get. A finger, your throat, there's some payback to be had here and they don't care where they get it! While only average in the speed department and not much to brag about in strength, they do have a certain durability that would drive anyone crazy. It's going to take quite a few hits to take these guys down. Maybe if you just leave them alone they'll go away...

In Discedo:
Sentinels wiki image
Shadowy figures that fly through the air and jump around on the ground like lost birds, be careful or you might find yourself losing an item or two! They'll often hang just out of distance before rushing in with a strong flap of their wings to beat others away from whatever item's caught their eye. Hit and run is the game with these creatures, as soon as they have what they want they'll try to fly high up to a rooftop with it out of reach. A few good whacks with a stick should do the trick for these thieves. They seem to be searching for something, but just what is hard to discern.

I am currently in the process of re-doing the Monster page so please pardon its appearance at this time, it will be brought up-to-date and re-organized some time hopefully within the next few weeks.

In addition: we do not have any mod plans for transportation to Spero. If you have any questions on what your characters can and cannot do if they are interested in taking up this project please drop them here! We encourage creativity and there will be more plot in the near future dealing with this situation.

As usual please leave any questions/comments/concerns if you have them and we'll answer them as best we can, thank you.

Marco could probably try to Jerry rig up a much cruder version of this http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Sea_Train -- but it would take a fuckton of cooperation and unlike the One Piece seatrain, there's no way he could create something to transmit an electric pulse to scare off monsters (Someone else might be able to?) The hardest part would be making the subway able to float though so he'd have to build a seatrain and that he can't do (Only Franky/Tom/Iceberg would really be able to)

Alternately, if they can get strong divers/swimmers they can block off the cave-ins and Ace can probably burn off the water that's currently in the tunnels. At which point they could follow Seifer's books and the instructions from previous Discedo people on how to fix the train.

NGL Marco would not be interested in building a bridge though -- and it'd be reminiscent of this massive slave-built bridge in One Piece for him so he'd be leery of helping that, though OOC I think it'd be awesome. If a bridge got half built, he would try to fly out there to bring supplies though. But ICly, it seems a bit more impractical simply because it would take ages to build, and longer to cross it even when it's built than to use a ship.

3rd option; if allowed, Ace/others might be able to rig up an engine like the one on his skiff to superpower a ship into going a fuckload faster (as he does in One Piece.) That way instead of crossing the lake by ship taking like 6 days or whatever, it could could whatever seems reasonable? Although since that still relies on Ace ferrying *shrug*

Sweden built a small sauna that can hold about three people in Discedo. The location is a bit unclear, but it is located in the city in a way that it cannot be spotted easily when you pass by on the street, probably behind a few ruins of something.

Sweden and Finland also fixed one of the ruined houses in Dissimulo to house the soup kitchen (resembles two sheds, one is for storage. The "yard" is protected with ruins and a fence and filled with drying racks for meat and things like that, and they do the butchering and cooking here, too.) The soup kitchen runs every day, but you can expect fresh ingredients only on sunny or cloudy days.

Not far away from this there are fields, again with fences to keep animals from eating what is grown. Atm there are two small ones, but there'll probably be more in the future.

Next to the field, there is something that looks like a graveyard, which is the memorial yard. Currently, there are only four stones on it, one that Luke put there with Sweden's help and three that Sweden put there. A small-ish space next to it is being prepared to one day hold a small church-like building, but right now there is no building to speak of yet.

...At least that is what I've been working with based on how I understood the info that we got on the cities, please tell me if I got something wrong.

Man, it's too bad Soraoto and Cube are NOT GETTING ALONG because there is a magical item called mermaid tail that looks like a costume but when put on the wearer is able to breathe under water and they're able to move the fin of the costume like a real mermaid.

ANYWAY That'd make it somewhat easier to block the water off? Still, it'd be a ton of work...

/sobs @ Soraoto for making a mess of things earlier.

Even though the location is unclear, do you think it'd be in the shopping or commercial districts? Those are the only two place I can really see to put something not easily seen from the street.

Could you perhaps pick a house on the map so I can label it for the soup kitchen? I'll also add in the fields, since I have randomly placed some already. (Maybe the best place to make it would be the house near the subway entrance or at the other end of Artyom Ln? Just suggestions)

Dissimulo has a church already. I was considering adding a graveyard near it... would Luke and Sweden have maybe put together a smaller one somewhere else?

[identity profile] satellitemecha.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, I was reading the housing list (because I'm a creeper like that) and noticed it hasn't been updated that both Horton and Marshall now have electricity.
Just fyi.

Also, I personally think some sort of ferry would potentially go over well for lake crossing, seeing as that was what was used during the AU event in the spring.
That or fixing the subway.
[giant bridge would still be epic, though, if impractical]

Just thinking about that... I wonder if there are any boats in the Ship Yard in Spero that can be fixed up?

[identity profile] satellitemecha.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe.
Yusei would be happy to help out. He's in Discedo right now, though.
totallygay: (Blob - Ya!)

[personal profile] totallygay 2011-09-07 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
There are always the teleporters... which Yusei might actually be able to work with it, considering his abilities? If not, maybe him and Washu should talk about it?
IDK

[identity profile] satellitemecha.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't believe Yusei's aquainted with Washu. But Yusei can build/fix pretty much anything mechanical, by canon definition, soyea.
Really, I'm up for anything. I havn't been as active as I should be.

Diss
Would the collapsed house between the church and Harmony Lane work? The fields would be a short distance away from that, then, and the memorial yard could be behind the church. If the church had a graveyard around the church, the memorial yard could maybe be right next to it? (idk in this area the old graveyards were always around the church, so...)

Disc
And the commercial district works! I never specified the location because I was always a bit confused about the city's layout ^^;

That would be pretty kick ass XDDD. And it'd probably be a lot of work, but still less than the other options I can think of. /using Big Dig in Boston for reference. B)

Maybe Marco could ask/beg Soraoto's help on something else important to drag him back?

Holland and Sweden have/had boats, and then there is the pirate ship, so there are at least three that belong/belonged to player characters?

(past tense as in, Holland is not present anymore)

[personal profile] totallygay 2011-09-07 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Diss: That house is perfectly fine! I'll mess with the field placement when I get off work tonight.

Disc: Just one more question, so it is a small little building, right? If it's hidden, I'm guessing it was build on it's own and not as part of another building, right? I'm thinking of putting it behind the collapsed building next to the parking garage (Which also have the highway behind it to obstruct a passer-by's view)
totallygay: (Oh?)

[personal profile] totallygay 2011-09-07 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I kind of like the boat idea. At least for now?
It gives characters who have boats or like them a reason to use their boat more.
totallygay: (Everytime a bell rings a shiki screams)

[personal profile] totallygay 2011-09-07 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be a good long-term solution. As I said below, I like the boat idea for now so characters have reason to use their boats more.

That miiiight work. Cube will ask that Marco maybe stay there during the summoning, though. In case the merchant demon is hostile.
totallygay: (Mmmmm)

[personal profile] totallygay 2011-09-07 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm I wonder if either of my characters would bring the idea up with Yusei... I'll see what I can do when I get home from work.

[identity profile] asideglance.livejournal.com 2011-09-07 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Just popping in here with a personal opinion.

I do like the fixing the subway idea! If people could do that, it'd be a pretty good permanent solution for fast travel, and boats would still be an option.

Character owned boats as the only transportation is fine, too! It's just that we have to remember we have to talk to the owner of the boat each time we want to cross, and there's a limit to how many people it can hold, etc. Things like that.

Also Japan would help with the subway thing if anyone brought it up first. He's just a decent swimmer but he gets points for determination. gfdjkgdfj

*nod* Sounds reasonable.

Marco would be cool with that. He kind of likes Soraoto after all.

[personal profile] rules_the_north 2011-09-07 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess Holland's boat is stored where Sweden's is, so in the woods close to the seaside. Any character who would be interested could find and use them, or Sweden could tell the others that they are there and free to use. Idk either way works?

Though I guess that the pirate ship would be everyone's best guess just because it is the safest due to its size.
