time for a news report!
The following will appear on the news at 6 PM in Alternate Discedo only:

As a result of the news, two things will happen:

Good evening Discedo. This is the seven o'clock news. I'm Jake Nowak— NEWSCASTER 2: —And I'm Molly. Our top story tonight: a terrorist attack on one of the military bases just outside of town. The camera shows the storehouse—damaged, with crews working to repair it and heavily armed guards pacing around. NEWSCASTER 1: Yesterday afternoon, a group of subversive agents attacked and attempted to steal items from the warehouse. Authorities will not tell us if they were successful, but they did release photos of the culprits. Can we get them up? Clear photographs fill the screen: on the left, security footage of the raid, and on the right, the ID pictures, clear as day, of everyone who participated in it, as well as names, home addresses, and workplace information. NEWSCASTER 2: What horrible people. The police have started their manhunt, both in the city and over the network, and the city will offer a substantial reward to anyone with information as to their whereabouts leading to their capture. NEWSCASTER 1: —I just got word: the mayor's office has confirmed that upon capture, they will be immediately put on trial and executed. NEWSCASTER 2: Don't you mean put on trial to determine execution? NEWSCASTER 1: The evidence is all here. There's no doubting their guilt. Remember: if you have any information and see any of them, call the number on your screen. Remember Miriama and Ace! Don't let that happen again! NEWSCASTER 2: Oh, and as a reminder—the network is being carefully watched. Don't joke about knowing where they are if you don't want police beating down your door! Remember the McLaughin scandal last year? Don't let that be your kids! The screen returns to the newscasters. In the background, an image of a hangman's noose appears. NEWSCASTER 1: The Hollislander Executions were early this morning. As you all probably recall, last week, sixteen Hollislanders left their district and refused to do their work unless we met with their demands. A screenshot of what looks like a protest—a lot of blond people, some carrying signs like WE'RE CITIZENS TOO! and DOWN WITH DISCEDO! NEWSCASTER 2: They then kidnapped poor Heather Lewis, holding her hostage. After her rescue two days later, the trial was held and the judge ruled on branding for ten of the group, and execution for the rest. The image is now of one of the Hollislanders, wearing an eyepatch that doesn't hide the burns on her face. She is crying and in handcuffs, being led through the city. People watch and jeer. Other Hollislanders in similar condition follow. The image switches to an execution ground. Five men and one woman stand in line as their charges are read to them. The camera cuts away from the actual hangings, but records the first man's final, heartfelt pleas for a more fair state. As he is hung, the camera scans the rest of the line. Now the image switches to mug shot photos of the six: Joseph D. Whitecastle, George P. Benbow, Matthew K. Hardwick, Thomas L. Joyce, Thomas J. Knowlton, and Lydia A. Knowlton. NEWSCASTER 1: Authorities say the executions went off without a hitch, and released the bodies back to their community early this afternoon. NEWSCASTER 2: Don't you wonder what could drive people to such crimes? Weren't two of them a married couple? Hollislanders have no sense of responsibility. NEWSCASTER 1: Agreed, Molly. In other news, the mayor's office has informed us that there is a possible infection going around— NEWSCASTER 2: More bad news, huh? NEWSCASTER 1: You said that right. Apparently this virus isn't life threatening, but can cause manic episodes and lower inhibitions, as well as cause temporary memory loss. Several of you have reported strange behavior from people lately; either in person or observed over the network. The government says they are likely sick and unaware of their actions. They should be encouraged to rest and calm down until they recover; if symptoms persist, please check them into the hospital where doctors are setting up an emergency ward. NEWSCASTER 2: Any information on where it came from? NEWSCASTER 1: Uhh— no, not yet. There's speculation it may have come from Lachesistein, but authorities are urging us not to worry about that right now, and are refusing to confirm or deny. But if you or someone you love seems to be suffering, check them into the hospital straight away. NEWSCASTER 2: Our next story: The screen now shows the nonhuman 'retirement camp' under construction. NEWSCASTER 2: Construction on Pine Village continues to make good progress, and the moving date for nonhumans has been updated to July 5th. Good news for us all. But, where do these freaks come from? We had Dr. Phineas Karas in the studio yesterday, and filed this report. Camera shows the hospital ward where the nonhumans are kept. NEWSCASTER 2 (V.O.) Freaks. Mutants. Aliens. No one is quite sure where this creatures come from, but we do know that the first of them arrived here almost fourteen years ago. Camera shows a young woman attempting to draw blood from a troll that looks a bit like Harry Potter; he struggles and a young man with brown hair joins the woman to help. The troll yells and curses the man, calling him Mr Sparkles; the man sedates him. The news bleeps out the curses, but leaves in the man's reply: "Perhaps a nice picnic first, Mr. Skittles." The camera then cuts to another troll on a treadmill, doing a heart rate exercise; a third on an exam table, her blood pressure being measured. NEWSCASTER 2 (V.O.) Are they dangerous? Are they human? These are questions we've wondered since the moment we found them. I joined Dr. Phineas Karas to talk about the nonhuman epidemic. Now NEWSCASTER 2 and DR. KARAS, a middle aged, dark skinned man, are shown sitting in two armchairs in a studio. DR. KARAS It's clear that they are not human, but what isn't clear is what they are. Current theory has it that they were affected by the radiation storms while still in the womb. NEWSCASTER 2 So they're mutants? DR. KARAS Possibly. Their DNA and even blood color varies wildly. It's difficult to make any detailed classifications, not in the least as the children themselves don't seem to know where they came from. NEWSCASTER 2 Could they be lying, or hiding the truth? DR. KARAS It's doubtful. Do you remember your birth? No, I believe that they are a new type of human. As you'll remember, the first nonhuman documented was born to normal parents, but had obviously nonhuman features. Further children from these parents were perfectly ordinary—of course, they and their parents were tested—and so as of now the official cause is unknown. The mutations seem to vary. One girl has horns but no other unusual features, for example. But, the full mutation is the most common—grey skin, odd blood, horns and the like. However, I don't believe them to be harmful or dangerous, except perhaps to themselves. NEWSCASTER 2 That's not the popular opinion. DR. KARAS We're taught to fear what we do not know… and rightfully. But I have devoted my professional life to studying these creatures, and am confident that they mean no harm. NEWSCASTER 2 In that case, why don't they live in Discedo with the rest of us? DR. KARAS No, no, I think we all can agree that would be unwise. But I'm very pleased with how Pine Village is being built. I think in this environment, they'll be able to live comfortable lives with a great deal of freedom. NEWSCASTER 2 And you'll continue studying them? DR. KARAS Oh, of course. The facility has a full lab and medical testing center. This is my life's work. Image changes back to the studio. Both newscasters are smiling. NEWSCASTER 1 Thank you for the report. The doctor really seems to believe in what he's doing. NEWSCASTER 2 I hope for all our sake's he's not wrong! Now, let's break for the weather. When we come back, we'll be looking at accusations of rigging races in the chariot arena… |
As a result of the news, two things will happen:
1. Nearly double the normal police will be seen, all trying to find and capture the people who took place in that log. As well, any and all network posts they make/comment to will lead to tracking them down.
2. The following characters:takehiscrown,
italianshadow,
x_dilettante_x,
inlikewho,
livethecreed, will have slightly different job responsibilities as a result. It's up to you if you choose to have them do these jobs or not or mess with them.
ITALY will be on extra patrols, looking for the enemy.
LOGAN will be told to assist in the propaganda campaigns against these people, and report any tips he gets to the police.
JON will be part of the task force organizing the manhunt. He'll help coordinate people and searches.
FLYNN will be told to search the Hollisland community for the fugitives, and search for a connection between them and Hollisland. He will also have to deal with the aftermath of the executions.
ALTAIR will be ordered to track and report every comment and post the fugitives make, along with several underlings.
It's entirely up to you if you want your characters to cooperate with Discedo or not, but if they try to subvert their orders to help the fugitives, they'll probably end up as part of Discedo's Most Wanted, too—if not tortured for information. They can choose to help capture them, or simple say they'll do it and not. It's entirely up to you, plotting is encouraged!

If he gets overly dramatic he might be all "YES HELP ME"

I think Ace probably would have sat this one out. He's a sneaky brat and probably would want to help in a less... uh... attention grabbing way.
Which is good considering you guys are kind of screwed now. If any of you get caught you at least have ONE potential way of making it out alive :| Maybe.
YEAH he's a pirate and YEAH he's kind of brash and such and this would have normally been right up his alley but uh... YEAH IDEK man, he's not stupid.
SORRY GAIZ.
no subject
Anyways no one's getting caught, but Seifer and Japan and I think we've already got that sorted out. FFFFFF sorry this keeps changing, new stuff keeps coming up.
no subject
Just remember Ace not only has ~*security*~ background but military as well. His eldest brother is in the service and Ace was too before his "accident". SO UH Yeah, he'll hang out at the sidelines and try to figure out a way to stop them from killing japan (and potentially Seifer) or try to help his bro Marco out of this or ... IDEK SOMETHING.
He's here. Use him. :|

S'cool, if you need me you know what to do. Just sayin' if you need Ace he's there and I'm up for whatever. :| b He's getting involved somehow cause he's totally not cool with the fact they want to execute you guys for such a small thing. (Well small in his mind) Imprisonment he gets but execution is extreme. It's like the Marines from home all over again and his Piratey nature calls!!
Also Ace is BFF's with John so... if I manage to plot there that can also explain why the others don't get caught :|a Assuming Ace can convince the guy to just... turn a blind eye and pretend to lose the scent on the others or something.
no subject
There's not really much of a scent to pick up. Seifer knows his shit and as long as everyone's not parading around outside naked with "I'M A TERRORIST" signs on them I think they'd be fine lmfao. Seifer DID prepare for this as much as everyone thinks he's a thoughtless psycho FFFFFFF.
But no if Ace shows up I doubt Seifer would go with him. You owe him one big damn apology Mister Portgas :,| Also fffff he trusts Marco to keep everyone out of trouble and he KNOWS he is the most conspicuous out of all of them. He'd rather split off and do his own thing since he trusts Marco to keep everyone from being too dumb to live for all he doesn't get Marco's crazy pirate habits XD
no subject
Well at least Seifer sort of planned ahead.
Apology, for what, I know not what you speak of >>; Yeah, IDK we'll see I guess? Just lemme know where I can help cause... I've got nothing thus far. Other than MAYBE helping the trolls somehow and keeping the others from getting caught. I haven't been around enough for the major plotting thus far so I'm kind of just... outside the box either way.
If Japan is caught he's gonna want in on that obv, but we can easily just say he doesn't succeed in figuring out a good plan before Anya and whoever else manages to bust both Japan and Seifer out. Just so it's noted he won't leave a Nakama to die. That shit just doesn't happen ever, new AU!Famree be damned. But he doesn't have to be involved, i'm totes cool with him missing the train on that.
no subject
And yeah if Anya or Seifer will do it it will def. be before Ace gets the chance since they are impatient terrorists lmao. I AM NOT SURE THOUGH it will... be decided when we get there LMFAO Ashley and I want to play out Seifer getting arrested without his pants first...
I don't see why Ace shouldn't talk to John still I am sure there are things Seifer did he told no one about/only told Marco cause he's a dick like that and it really doesn't hurt to rally the other Discedeans and keep them off the government's side. At least that's what I'd like to do!! but I like stuff like that sad;lfjk
no subject
YEAH I am still figuring out if Marco will go to the frat party or not. He wants to get tabs on people, but he's like "yeaaah. no." because even as the party hardest pirates other than MAYBE Shanks' crew, Marco was sort of the one responsible for making them not get all arrested on the islands XD so he's *SUSPICIOUS*
He'll probably slip Seifer and Japan some booze at the door and let them know he's going to be working on casing the movements at the non-humans camp.
But he might come and leave early? That's pretty much within his style.
JOHN
I want to plot with you on this :|a
Help a brotha out?
Re: JOHN
Jon will ICly need to be convinced, but he has been keeping his ears open on all accounts. He's playing along at the moment, so that sickness thing hasn't been focused on him. Luckily he's a really damn good liar.
Re: JOHN
Well, it's a small thing (but could be turned big if he's discovered D:), hopefully he doesn't catch hell for not finding the others. But yeah, basically Ace would find him, talk to him (I'm assuming over a pint) and one way or another I'd assume Ace could figure out what his job is...
John knows Marco and the others, Would he try to warn Ace about what's going on with them or bring it up? Cause I could easily see that leading into what he's got a hand in and potentially Ace trying to convince him to help them avoid capture... :|a
Re: JOHN
The easiest way to bring it up would be to talk about the executions. It wouldn't raise suspicions since it was on the news, and Jon could hint that he had to help record the stuff that got them caught?
It would be a very veiled warning, but he would. He considers Ace an honest friend and since MArco has spoken so highly of Ace he figures the two are close. So he'd help somehow.
And I got a really crazy idea but...I dunno/remember if powers work in AUDiscoland.
JON
Agreed, it can come up in casual conversation. They can be all slick about how they talk about it but essentially come up with a plan. Unless they find a more secure location to talk about it in the open :|a
And unfortunately no, no powers here :\
Re: JON
We can assume and make a timeline for it- so that there's a record of what exactly happened. WE can use google docs and make just like a when/where/what kind of things?
Damn...can't summon mummies then
JON
But I figure they can hit a pub, have a few drinks and when they're on the right page, head off to a more private location to get serious. Ace will probably warn him that he too will most likely get caught up in things in the future (Namely with the trolls and such) but uhm, that Marco, Anya, Seifer and Japan were all in that heist before (Though I kinda think Seifer and Japan will have been caught by then? And will be broken out by Anya I think? IDEK)
Re: JON
It actually would work to their benefit since it would give Jon a bit of a wild goose hunt to point the dogs at instead of the actual people that need to be caught.
And yes, drinks- because they can pretend to be drunk and get away with things. Jon's reputation would still be pretty much the same even in this place XD
JON
Need anything else from me then or have we got this squared away?
Re: JON
Ah just an FYI, there will be a thread in the log seifer is posting today/tomorrow for the Manhunt- if you want Ace to take part in any shinanigans there.
Re: JON
But uhm, Seifer can run you around in circles. Thanks for the heads up in any case!
Re: JON
JUST DON'T GET CAUGHT ACE! Or Jon will ask to slug you personally. >|
Re: JON ALSO WOW YOU HAVE SO MANY SNS
BUT WE WILL SEE. If Ace is caught in the end and slated to be executed Jon is welcome to slug him as many times as he likes. 8D
JON heh I have ten characters on three games ^^'''
You bet damn well he will. Fifty times! Or....until he gets tired. either way you are dead if you die!
Re: JON YOU ARE CRAZY
Re: JON I get that a lot! >DDD
