OPINIONS PLEASE

Okay I am going to stop spamming the community, I swear. But there have been a number of suggestions made by some players in the police force post that need to be discussed by EVERYONE, and I'm looking for as much input on that as possible.

There's been a lot of ideas thrown around in Doc's post on the OOC, but there are a few that need a bit more fleshing out and discussion. So I'm going to write the suggestions here, and then everyone is free to offer opinions. A LOT of these are going to be based on majority vote/opinion, so if you want to have a say, now's the time to do it. Once we've got a more general idea on what people want, there will probably be a vote on it to finalise things. Even if you're not in the police force/x-force/have a lawbreaker character, this will end up affecting everyone.

The first is the idea of some kind of loose law system. There are at least five lawyers within the city, and most of their players have expressed interest in holding trials-- much like they do in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, if you're familiar with the series. Of course, it wouldn't be as drawn out-- it would have to be a short trial in order to be efficient enough to fit the game-- but what do people think about a law system? It would mean that laws for the city WOULD have to be drawn up, but not strict enough to limit people's enjoyment in the game too much. The laws would probably revolve mostly around crimes, particularly murders (since they seem to be happening rather frequently, ahah).

The second is the communication issues concerning offing people. Most of the time when murders and the like happen, everyone is caught off guard except for the people involved, and it can lead to the police force not knowing what to do/how to respond. Therefore, one way to curb this would be that everyone planning to kill someone talk to the moderators or someone that's in the police force, so that they have prior knowledge of what is going to happen so that they can organise people to respond to it ahead of time. This doesn't mean that people will need approval to murder people or go off and do a crime-- it's just so that the police force actually get a chance to become involved where they should be. And hey, maybe people can talk to the force about attempting to murder someone, but the force save the day. Who knows.

The third is punishment for people. At the moment, people's punishment is limited to: a slap on the wrist, death, or getting thrown into jail. However, some of the suggestions have been: the chip being put back in, and then the character is stuck in jail for a maximum of four or so weeks, or that the character is stuck doing "community service" such as helping rebuild the city.  Whatever punishment is chosen would of course have to be discussed with the player of the offending character. But if people don't mind this idea, more ideas for punishment are also welcomed.

In addition to all of this rambling, there's also been the idea of "police training," so to speak. But it would be open for anyone that's willing to learn how to fight. Is there anyone who WOULD be interested in learning or teaching this? Or is there anyone that currently does?

SO YEAH that is all, for now. Thoughts are welcomed!
