Plot: Naruto AU
HELLO EVERYONE and welcome to YET ANOTHER craaaazy chip event. This one is a little more extensive, so listen up!!
We're about to enter the Naruto AU zone....
For those of you familiar with Naruto, you might know about the whole Sharingan deal, as well as the Genjutsu that it provides for. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll cover the basics. Genjutsu is a kind of Jutsu that the ninja in Naruto are able to use. It causes illusions and is typically used to deceive its target. In the case of the sharingan, it requires that you SEE some part of its user in order for it to take effect. USUALLY; unless we increase the effects of the sharingan, as with this up coming chip removal.
Later in the series, it mentions something called the Moon's Eye Plan, which uses the moon as a GIANT sharingan, with this, it can cast a HUGE illusion. With Sasuke's chip removal, we're going to initiate this. Illusions can be visual, sensual, and mental, but I'll try to map out possibilities for you.
LIKEWISE, Naruto is getting his removal done at the same time! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Well, "fox demon" yes, but Naruto won't have any complete control over the chakra that is leaked out and, in fact, this chakra is about to flood the ENTIRE region. It can be used and abused by anyone.
Right so this makes more sense in FAQ format, let's begin:
So what will change about Discedo as a whole with these illusions?
Mostly, the illusions would come from your most twisted imagination. Sure, your character could find his parents, YIPPEE. Only to have them turn around and discover their eyes gouged out, bleeding, and screaming for help.
Characters may come across ANBU ninja as well, but who they are is completely indeterminable. They're part of the illusion, Keep in mind, so they're not real. They can go as suddenly as they go.
Days will look the same as usual, but nighttime will look something like this constantly (Warning for blood!). Characters might be unable to recognize it, but will definitely feel that the atmosphere has changed at night.
If you want, here is another video of genjutsu in action. Illusions can be EXTREMELY convincing, and also completely outrageous. Use your imagination!!
What can my character experience?
All illusions can be visual, sensory, or mental, but I'll give you some ideas of what could happen.
As mentioned before, Characters can witness things such as the zombie-fied bodies of their friends or family. It could also be themselves when they were younger a recollection of their worst nightmare, or really anything. It's just an illusion, so free range, but keep a dark theme in mind.
Characters can experience physical torture. This can happen in as sudden as an instant, or over a short period of time; however, the one experiencing it might feel that the time has passed has been DAYS. The degree of torture is up to you, and keep in mind no matter how sever it is your character WON'T die from the wounds inflicted.
The genjutsu chakra mash-up can also alter a person's mental state, meaning they could believe themselves to be younger OR older than they presently are, or not have actual consciousness as to who they really are.
A character can also believe that they've lived in Discedo their entire lives, or have lived there for many many year. In essence, characters will lose their perception of time entirely, and won't be able to determine how many days have past.
They can also lose their sense of self and develop an alter ego, generally one of a naruto-universe-fashion. They might perceive that they are dressed differently and might even behave slightly differently than they might normally. Think: if my character grew up in Naruto's universe, what little things might change about them?
Characters might also perceive that they themselves have been altered, perhaps wearing different clothes or with new found wounds on their body.
Can everyone see the illusion? Just a few? Or is my character alone in their suffering?
You have one of two options: EVERYONE sees it or ONLY your character sees it. Any vision can be viewed either way, but if you want an interaction to be totally private to your character, might want to note that.
Things that would be EXCLUSIVELY private illusions would be, for example, any span of time (days, months years) experienced in a brief instant. You could also, IF YOU WANTED, get together with other player and plot out a scenario that they experience together. Keep in mind they would be on the same "timeline".
So how about that chakra?
Characters may find that they're suddenly IMBUED with energy. They can run faster, lift heavier things, leap distances they weren't able to before. This doesn't make them AUTO ninja, but they'll definitely feel stronger.
Characters with powers already will get a power increase as well, and anyone with untapped potential in their ability might find that theyre suddenly able to preform the skill. For example, Sakura might sporadically have the ability to heal completely old, severed arms back onto the original body.
The chakra boost can also override the chip, so canon powers are temporarily restored.
If my character believed s/he was once a ninja, could s/he uses ninjutsu?
YES AND NO! Again, characters who chose this route will PERCEIVE everything. They will PERCEIVE that they have just used a water jutsu to drown their foe, but in actuality, nothing has happened.
Can my character be hurt/killed by the illusions?
Nope! Or, not physically. If two characters duke it out with illusion created swords, and one of them gets stabbed in the chest, they'll experience every ounce of pain, but will be unable to die. Any EXCRUCIATING pain, such has being torn in half, would result in a sudden snap to reality at least briefly.
There is the emotional aftermath, however, which is not an illusion and can leave a heavy toll on a character's mind.
Can I do other stuff beside what you mentioned?
YEAH SURE if you have something that you wanna do that might fit into this sort of event, but you're not sure if it's legitimate, PLEEEAAASSEE ask. i'm more than happy to help make things work if you're unsure, too.
This event will begin on October 5th and the effects will last until October 12th; effects of the event will be stronger during the beginning of this timeframe, and will slowly taper back into normality.
ALSO sort of a note from the naruto cast: NONE of them will be present in the city during this event. At the very least, Sakura will be the only one who catches the tail end of it. So have fun with that guys!!!

So could she, say, relive that? As in believe she's there again, experiencing everything that went with it?
And also, given this is over the course of several days, would it be possible for a character to experience more than one of these things. For instance, do they have to have one recurring illusion or similarly recurring illusions the entire time? Or could at one point they suffer from illusions and at another lose their perception of time?
Can they be mixed and matched? Such as experiencing the illusions/torture while losing their perception of time/self?
Sorry for all the questions! I know nothing at all about Naruto. I also hope I'm making sense. I've been wanting to take Helen somewhere dark.

yes, reliving events is completely fine.
You could definitely let them have several different illusions over the period of time. i think the only one that couldnt happen several times would be if you did something memory/personality-altering, which would have to last for the duration of the event
And yeah the torture/illusions can be experienced in a short span of time. in the fist video that i linked, kakashi (the guy on the cross) has, from his perspective, experienced that episode of torture for like seventy days or so, and when he escapes the illusion, only a few moments have passed in reality. 8|a hopefully that makes sense?
