With that said, Jenna and I are open to plotting with America and Tatsumi. With Tatsumi's hypnosis abilities, America is pretty much his little toy. Claiming to be America's new villain, Tatsumi's making the nation invite them into places or gang up on people in the streets for shenanigans and feeding.

So, YES. PLOTTING IS GOOD. Everything is open. Specially pain and the usual America WTFness~! Killing is completely optional.

SHORT VERSION: because he's an asshole

LONG VERSION (ALSO TITLED "A TALE OF FUCKERY: COMPLETE WITH COPIOUS SWEARING"): Tatsumi is a sadistic sociopath who only kept dating America after the blind date because a) he thought he could use America to improve his social standing (since this was around the time he was accuse of murder) and/or to get "invited" into homes where his vamp powers wouldn't normally let him tread, and b) because what the hell else was he doing with his time.

Story actually begins back in October 2009 when an event made a few characters insane. America ended up being a serial killer since, shit, 1969 we've got Zodiac running around, not to mention a history of Manson, H. H. Holmes, and others. This comes into play with this terrible relationship later.

SO FAST FORWARD. America ends up on a blind date with Tatsumi because he likes to fill out forms without really reading them. They hit it off, and soon enough America gets two traumatic events: he's sent into the s p a c e (giant void of blood) which is made worse by the fact that he's trying to keep poor Namine (adopted daughter-citizen-thing) from utterly breaking down. Then he meets the trolls... when Nepeta breaks into his apartment and eats his pet wolfdragonthing. It is awful. Both times Tatsumi picks America back up, comforts him, etc. By now Tatsumi has to keep up appearances and keep America on his side in order to stave off a bad rep and America is falling pretty hard. He thinks he's met a swell guy who just happens to be a vampire.

Meanwhile, I make Twilight jokes.

RELATIONSHIP TURNS INTO A ROLLERCOASTER partly because America is a paranoid dick who throws fits and is generally a dumb teenage boy. Yet they manage to make up and all is well blah blah blah. Then Tatsumi reveals his bloodlust, and America... well, freaks out. Honestly he's about to break it off, despite still loving the guy MURDERING AIN'T COOL. Here's where the serial killer thing comes into play: America thinks he can fix him and they can go back to being a (mostly) happy couple. In a way, that would be like redemption for his own craziness incident. Also he kinda just wants to be ignorant of the possibility that no, it's not Discedo messing around, no Tatsumi isn't beyond hope, because life is a happier place that way.

The engagement came in for the Christmas thing where the mistletoe made Tatsumi feel love for the first time. One would think this would be awesome, but it's actually the worst thing ever for the vamp. After decades of feeling nothing for other living creatures, he's overwhelmed with a cornucopia of giddiness (AND FOR A PARANOID DICK, NO LESS). When that dissipates, he's left knowing what it feels like to actually be a happy, normal person, yet also knowing that he'll never be able to feel that again. Ever.

That'd make anyone bitter. Meanwhile, America continues to be in lala-land of stupid romance and being happy, and shit isn't that annoying if you can never feel that. (I could be a tad off-base with this since I haven't actually read Shiki, but by my interpretation:) now Tatsumi doesn't even want to pretend to give a shit about America anymore. He's doneso with all the shit America perpetually puts him through, America isn't even being helpful anymore, and he's... well, kinda directionless without orders from Sunako.

When the memory event came up, America revealed the 2009 incident, and Tatsumi was like "holy SHIT you're actually secretly awesome" while America was like "NOPE, NO, FLUKE, FUCK OFF." Tatsumi's memories revealed that he actually has zero feelings for America, which America himself... well, sorta refused to believe at first.

The actual betrayal itself this was actually supposed to happen sooner but then we were like "THIS RELATIONSHIP IS FUN, FUCK IT, LET'S KEEP IT UP A LITTLE LONGER" so the details have shifted around over time. It's sorta a culmination of Tatsumi getting fed up with America's bullshit, learning what he was capable of (and, in lieu of shedding blood with him, he'll settle for going against him), and because he's a horrible, horrible sadist who loves to see people suffer. The higher you build 'em, the harder they fall, and Tatsumi wants to see America crash and burn. Currently Tatsumi has been basically torturing the poor guy, trying to break everything the country believes about love and relations, either trying to break him so hard he becomes a hollow husk of a human being or (even better) enrage him enough to garner all of his hatred.

In Homestuck terms, it's a Double Reach Around romance.

(From America's perspective there's also some of my own stupid headcanon about how he views romance and relationships as someone who is both an individual and a country, but honestly that would probably take another million paragraphs to explain SO ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW IS THAT HE'S HEARTBROKEN AND HAS TO DO A LITTLE REEVALUATION OF HIS BELIEFS.)



And America is getting a shiny new appendage after all this torture/hypnotizing is done 8))))))))))

Ehhh I'm not sure what involvement Marco would take (if any) since admittedly he kind of likes Tatsumi more than America and he's kind of a murderer himself (Which man he keeps telling people, they never listen.)

But that said he won't really want to hurt America since that would upset Japan, annnnnd is a horrible horrible horrible pirate so even if he knew/figured out/guessed that it was Tatsumi's doing he'd be like "Oh okay, your sadism is that level now? Carry on~" :|a yeah. Though I guess if Tatsumi/America kills anyone on Marco's nakama list he'd try to kill one and/or both of them in revenge?

But yes, Tatsumi can crash with Marco after fallout.

T-This makes me rather happy. TATSUMI STILL HAS SOME KIND OF FRIENDSHIP. He is so using this friendship and camping out at Marco's place for a while. Hell yes.

In all honesty, I don't think Tatsumi would send America at Marco, anyway. Too any risks with that, and besides, Tatsumi rather fight the big bird himself.
