Game Changes
Cat here again. We do have some announcements about game changes for all of you.
GAME GENRE: We are changing this. Discedo will no longer be a horror game. While there will doubtless be plots that include horror and we'll keep the monsters in the game, the game genre will now be experiment/survival. What does this mean? This means we will focus on the experiment aspect of the game rather than Scientists, backstory, or horror. This also means plots will now range from crack to wholesome family fun to horror and drama. We'll most likely keep a focus more on meme type plots (examples would be the Halloween, 7 sins and Monster plots from last year), but there will be the occasional deeper plot.
SPECTAVI: This will now be once a month on the 15th.
SPERO: While Spero is a nice in-game location it's not used that often. We do know there are characters living there, but when running events where every city has a different effect or needs a character to do something it can be hard to find participation in Spero. Due to this we're no longer going to be treating Spero as a third city. Characters can still live there and scavenge there, even explore or build things there. But on the mod side of things we will no longer be including Spero in the weather or the monster report. If we have an event where every city is granted a different effect Spero will share the same effect as Discedo. Over the course of February we'll be enacting some changes to Spero to differentiate it more from Discedo and Dissimulo so even if it's no longer being included in game plot there'll be things characters can find there that they won't be able to find elsewhere. If in the future Spero becomes a larger area of player activity we'll incorporate it back into the game as a main area of play, but for now this is easier.
CHIPS: On MARCH 1ST we will be moving the chip location. There'll be a plot later down the road to reveal the new location (most likely June or July). This means any characters apped after the FEBRUARY 26TH APP ROUND will have this new location and will not be able to have their chip removed by doctor characters in the game. This does not mean you will be unable to get your character's chip out until the revelation plot though.
Starting this month we'll be offering a new form for chip removals (found on the chip removal page). Every month up to 3 players may apply to have their character's chip removed anonymously. ICly characters will being using their communicator at midnight when they'll be redirected to a page offering to remove their chip if they type their name in the agreement box. Once done characters will disappear for the entirety of the next day without a sound or a trace. The day after that they'll reappear back in their home (or another location if you prefer) with their chip out and no memory of what took place the day they were gone (or that they were even missing for a day). As such for the next six days they'll have ONE of the following effects:
»Normal chip removal effects. Sickness, out of control powers and any chip event you might have submitted that was approved.
»Transformation: over the next six days they'll go through a transformation into something of the player's choosing. This can affect only their outward appearance, their personality/mentality, or both. It can be anything from a horrendous monster to a kitten to a beautiful angel. They may even turn into another character from any canon. If you ever wanted to have your character be Sailor Moon, here's your chance. Again. Player choice. They will gain the powers of whatever they transform into. But you'll need to list these powers in your form and have them approved first. At the end of the six day time period these changes will revert and characters will return entirely to normal with their chip out. Players may choose whether their character remembers what happened the past six days.
»Nothing. Nothing at all happens. Characters are normal, but their chip is now removed.
»Another effect: you may submit an effect of your own choosing for the six days (all who touch your character experience their memories, everyone they look upon turns to stone, they can't stop seeing the future, etc). We hold the right to veto or ask for revisions on anything we think is too game breaking or ask you to move your chip removal date further down the line if we think your idea will be too much going on in the game at once on top of current plot. But feel free to go wild here, just make certain there's an opt out for players who don't want to be involved.
After the six days everything will revert to normal, characters will be themselves again and there will be no trace of where the chip was removed leaving characters none-the-wiser to its location. This form of chip removal is available beginning today.

How can people get their chip removed if doctors don't know where it is, on top of not being able to do so? Are you guys allowing people to just experiment on themselves and others?
...now with the right journal sob
In most likely June or July we'll run a plot where characters will discover the new location. There was a similar one back in 2010 where one of the Scientists proved to be a traitor of sorts and handed out the answer to characters ICly through a gruesome puzzle.
Between March 1st and the plot revealing the new location though players will be able to use the new chip form to get their character's chip removed even if they were accepted after the 1st though we'll only accept 3 requests per month.
Normally the chip location isn't known as long as it has been this current round (nearly a year and a half) and part of the survival aspect of the game is to have characters powers limited and the location unknown.
Lol loved that name xD

Are we able to pick which chip removal effect we get, or do you guys choose for us?
Because I already have something in mind for whenever I get around to de-chipping Nor...

1.) SPECTAVI: This will now be once a month on the 15th.
This makes me sad as Spectavi was always the highlight of my week. But if it makes it easier for you guys then AWESOME!
2.) Will we still get back story of Discedo? Cause I really do enjoy reading and finding out more about Discedo's history.

2.) Yes, but those plots will be a bit more spread out with mostly meme-type events/plots in between.

2.) Yay! Okay, I am glad then and don't mind it as much. <3
