part 3
MORE PLOT. LET'S DO THIS THING.
Tomorrow a post will be made to
spectavi -- a broadcast like the previous news anchor posts, in which all electronics (communicators, radios, even unplugged or broken televisions) will be briefly hijacked in order to deliver a message -- detailing the situation and the demands of the creatures holding your friends' bodies hostage.
There is something the doubles have that the corpsenappers want. Something in their torsos, located where the human liver would be. In order to have your real friends revived, you'll have to take down the doubles. Killing them is the easiest option if you have no qualms with it. After all, these things did kill your friends. They deserve it, right? Keep thinking that and you'll forget that you're murdering sentient creatures trying to defend themselves. Or, if you're feeling particularly merciful, you could try to spare their life by performing impromptu surgery. Try being the operative word. It's not easy to cut a struggling person open. And once your done, then what? You'll have a dying creature either trying to kill you or trying to flee with wounds.
Probably easiest to just kill them. Either way, the "mafia" won't particularly care as long as they get what they want. And they want it within 48 hours (ICly) after they broadcast.
Dig in past the black veins carrying pseudo-blood and hollow organs and you'll find... metal. A round, flattened piece of metal. Looks kinda like an oversized coin.
Now you're starting to wonder if you've just killed or mutilated someone wearing a familiar face for profit. Whatever they need that metal for, at least now you'll have some payment to get your real friend back. Leave your "donations" in the rotting collection box in the church. Should you wait around to try to jump the debt collector... well, there's always a need for more skin.
But what happens if the one of the doubles escapes with their coin?
Your pal (the one the double was impersonating) will still be revived, don't worry. But for every coin that's failed to be retrieved, the corpsenappers will send a warning: lacing the original body with toxins so that when characters are brought back to life, they'll be sick and in agony for about three days. It will feel like barbs have been placed between muscles, every movement causing a spike of pain; a fever will give them chills, likely causing involuntary spasms to incite this pain; vomiting, diarrhea, and mucus in the lungs will certainly make life a living hell. Luckily after the three days of torment are over, they'll be put on the road to recovery.
As for the corpsenappers, as soon as they're paid, they'll be out of your hair. They'll even set up a nice little perimeter around Discedo to ensure the safety of anyone staying there.
After all, they might call upon you again in the future.
As a reminder, the teleporters will be turned on after the broadcast and shall stay on until the event ends. After that they will be shut off and stand idle until further notice.
HMD will be postponed until next week on Friday the 26th. We apologize for the delay.
And lastly, if you have any questions/comments/concerns about the new mod situation or anything else in Discedo, you can feel free to IM any of us or post to the concerns & inquiries page.
On a personal note, I'll try to get to all questions about the plot (and plotting) ASAP! Work has kinda been running me ragged with great danes and diabetic cats, so I'm liable to pass out early. You can direct most questions to Cat and Ash, and anything else I'll get to as soon as I can! /bluh bluh my job oh my god I have to go back to the demon cats tomorrow kill me.
IC broadcast is now up!

She's never used weapons or can't even hurt a fly. (AI orbs and perverted spirits are different) So...she will be absolutely clumsy and scared for all of this.
Any of her CR wanna get killed by her?

I...want Jack to be sick for three days ok. Seeing as the chip probably took away his inability to feel sick or hungry or tired or whatever, it will be so fun to play him sick as a dog.
ANYWAY since I'll be gone most of tomorrow anybody in Spero is free to kill him and we can backdate a log or post?? Ace knows something's up, I think that's it.

Unless the aliens are bastards about it and make him sick anyway. Uh, so IDK maybe you want someone else to kill him? Or... gank the coin from Ace? or.......something. :|a

if you're not fed up with my failure this past weekFlandre can theoretically port herself around anywhere now, and wouldn't hesitate to kill a doppelganger. Or a completely innocent bystander that might have been acting suspicious and someone pointed a finger at.
If she disintegrates your character, there probably wouldn't be any coin left. She'd learn after the first...few times.
