PLOT, PART THREE! (last one for a while, but important!)
So as you have probably noticed, we've drawn the names: Danny, Eald'narche, The Netherlands, Yuugi, and the surprise bonus Elena. They will be making their posts over tonight and tomorrow, so look out for them: they've all been attacked by...
...Well, we'll be finding that out, won't we?
The attacker in all cases was tall, wearing a gray military uniform, and well armed with at least two guns and a knife. Are these soldiers behind the bomb and the power blockage? You bet they are. And this is where things get complicated.
You see, Elena managed to kill one of them. By all means, investigate his body: you'll find the above, some white pills, and a device that looks a lot like an old model gameboy. When turned on, it makes a keening noise, and the screen lights up to show dots on a radar-type display.
Dots that... respond to communicators? That's right! The devices pick up on communicator frequencies. They cannot read or hear anything said over the network, but they can hone in on the location a communicator post is made from; quick playing around with the machine will reveal as much to anyone who checks it out. They have no other function. They do not pick up communicators that are not being used, they only pick up the feedback of ongoing conversations or posts: a recording video, a conversation between characters, posts in general. If your communicator is abandoned on your kitchen table and not being used, it won't be detected. Not every post will be so tracked, of course, although the frequency will increase as time goes on.
Characters should be able to guess what's coming next: They are being tracked by their communicator posts. And judging by the violence so far... well, it's probably not to offer hugs and cookies! In fact... well... kind of the opposite. And so, before progressing any further in the event, we would like to offer an OPT-OUT.
For the duration of this event, NPCs will be appearing in people's communicator posts, especially in comment logs. If anyone is uncomfortable with this, please comment here saying so, and they will not be tagged. At all. This will not prevent you from participating in the event! Your character simply will not be interacting with the NPCs. For those who do not choose to opt-out, characters will have the chance of being hurt or even killed, so please bear it in mind and choose appropriately.
Questions and comments are, as always, encouraged!
