And that's that. With Kevin's final post, characters will find that all doors now lead to home. The network has been shut down. Characters that may otherwise stay are basically boned, too; a monster infestation will begin within the week, and any characters who try to remain will either be forced out or eaten alive. Fun, right? If any character does comment to Kevin's post, he will inform them of this as well.

afterdiscedo is also now open for any and all players of Discedo to join. You're welcome to use it to your own bidding, and feel free to spread the word! Keep in mind that this community is (almost) COMPLETELY unmoderated. Nika will act as head of the community, so if problems DO show up, you can contact her for any problems.

We've all had a lot of fun moderating this game, and we hope you guys enjoyed your time here as well. With this post Discedo is officially closed. We will be closing up the comms once this post goes up, and adding last notes of closure, but you should still be able to comment around on the mingle log if it suits you.

Finally, if you want to use this post as a final OOC mingle place, leaving any contact stuff you want here and notes or whatever, go for it. We hope everyone has a very happy 2013, and best wishes for the rest!!

New Years is coming....

Hello Discedians!! The end is nigh, but we're still keeping you guys updated on the last little piece of plot.

As you saw here there will be a ball drop on New Year's day this year! Of course everyone is invited. IN FACT, characters are required to go. They will find that the morning of the 31st they've all been locked out of their apartments, a cheery "Closed for Maintenance" and "Enjoy the New Year" message plastered onto the front doors. Anyone who manages to break INTO the apartments, via the first floor windows, fire escape, or otherwise, will find themselves overwhelmed with a noxious gas within ten minutes and black out. Upon awakening, they'll be outside buried in the snow and wearing a most festive hat whether they like it or not.

Along Lander, they'll find perhaps the strangest and most lively set up. It's as if a street fair popped up over night, lining the streets with freed candy, food, wine, drink, blankets, and really anything you might need to have a good time at the ball drop. All the stations are unmanned, but supplies never seems to run out.

There WILL be a mingle log going up on December 31st, and later in the evening there will be a scientist post going up that is of course open to comments.

Final details will be released with the closing of the game, and if anyone should have any questions, please contact us here, through PM, or through IM.

Sorry guys, but I've completely run out of steam for this guy 8( I loved all of his CR and TIMES WERE GREAT! However I'm sad to say that I've been struggling with his voice for a while and feel pretty lost with his characterization, so it's time for him to head back to his own horrible reality though.

End game announcement

End Game update

Hey guys! Finally here with the final announcement about what is becoming of Discedo in the long run. It was a pretty close race (one vote made the difference, would you believe?) but after examining the poll and looking at our situation as mods and as a game as a whole, we've made our decision.

Discedo will be officially closing!! At present we still don't have an EXACT date but expect Discedo to be finished sometime at the start of January. This gives players about two months to do the things they want and enjoy the game for a little longer.

Including end plot, we should have two to four more events before the game closes, which will all depend on what we can fit into the remaining weeks.

For those of you who still want to play with one another, we HAVE created a Discedo-only musebox called afterdiscedo. This is open to ALL Discedo players, new and old!! This musebox will be complete UNMODERATED, so we'll transfer all the necessary information (premise and such), but aside from that, it's completely free range. It will be opened up after end game for anyone interested. Feel free to spread the news to old players too!

Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know that starting sometime this weekend me and Izaya here will be on a hiatus. I'll try to make free time to catch up on tags within the next couple days but by Sunday officially I'll be out of town until Wednesday and unable to tag.

After that I may be a bit slow jumping back in due to starting a new job/training but here's to hoping that won't happen!

Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving or a great week in general for our non-americans!

Heya, this is Vriska Serket from Homestuck! She's one mean, psychopathic (sometimes), yet endearing, and the kind of gal who knows just how to show her friends how she cares. Methods can range from pushing people off cliffs and maybe even killing them. Bad jokes aside, she is just commonly known as one of the bitchiest characters to ever exist, but she sure powers through her obstacles by sheer willpower.

Halloween Event and More!

First I'd like to wish all you fellow East-coasters all the best in the upcoming storm. Stay safe everyone! Now onto the fun stuff.

Certainly, being in Discedo is bound to put some people on edge, especially at a time of year that is associated with hauntings and horror. Some characters will probably get a little anxious as the 31st approaches. Imagine their relief when the only things to pop up on Halloween are the standard porch decorations, jack-o'-lanterns, and bowls of candy corn. So much candy corn. Why, this might be a good day after all! You should throw on some warm clothes and--

Oh, what's that? Your whole closet has been replaced with Halloween costumes? Whoops. The costumes themselves range are standard things you'd find at a Halloween shop. Some of them silly, some you question why they exist, and some seem normal but turn out to be downright horrifying.

Look into our eyes and know Hell.

This costuming madness will last from October 31 to Nov 7 (so one week), at which point wardrobes will be restored to normal and the decorations will disappear. All things considered though, it's not such a bad way to spend the holiday. It might even be a relief to have life be akin to normal. Be thankful that nothing terrible is happening.

Not yet, anyway.

Because of that bitch Sandy (and the uncertainties of who will be without power/how long), the following event will take place Nov 5 to Nov 11. Yes, the two events will overlap, but only by a small margin. After your characters have had a chance to relax and enjoy themselves, they will unsurprisingly be thrown into a veritable chamber of terror. What else were you expecting?

A leaked conversation from a certain someone (settlethescore) will kick off the start of the event. But listen closely and characters can pick out a hopeful message in their words:

There is a way home. And characters may be able to seize the opportunity to get there.

But as we all know, sometimes things are too good to be true. That thought might not cross a character's mind at first though--they can finally get out and go home!--so they leap up to leave their apartment/building/residence to start looking for the way out

and come face-to-face with their worst nightmare.

Here's the deal: every door has the potential to be a portal. Not every door is a portal and not every door will affect everyone the same way. Where one person may wander through as though it was a perfectly normal entryway, another may find themselves in psychological Hell. There really is no telling. Unfortunately for characters, there are only three options.

A Normal Door. This is, sadly, the best outcome of the three. You walk through a doorway out to Marshall Street and you find yourself precisely on Marshall Street. Nothing new, nothing out of the ordinary, just same old Discedo. Then you turn around to head back inside. Perhaps you find yourself back in the building. Or perhaps you find yourself in…

Your Worst Nightmare. Weeping Angels? The mangled corpses of your loved ones with their mouths open to scream even from beyond the grave? Whatever it is, it's here. The door shuts tightly behind you and you aren't allowed out until you have been mentally fucked sideways. No matter how hard you try to rationalize it as a hallucination or simply try to escape, it's like there's something dark pressing at your mind, dragging you further and further downward. It isn't until you've snapped that the door will swing open.

In this instance, there will be psychological consequences. Insanity of varying types and degrees, murderous intent, severe depression, or utterly shutting down and slipping into a comatose state will afflict a character to the end of the event--and possibly beyond. Even after the event itself has lifted, characters may be slow to come out of their depression or fury. Maybe it's a residual effect that clings to their mind. Maybe they are having trouble picking up the pieces of their shattered psyche. Who knows. But there is a third option.

Home. Yes, it's home. Genuinely, truly, and real, characters will find themselves back on their own worlds. They can also find themselves in another characters' world! Anyone for adventuring around the Land of Ooo? Maybe solve some puzzles in London?

Ah, but of course, the bliss doesn't last. It doesn't last long at all. Characters will only get about five, ten minutes tops to enjoy their surroundings before they die. They just die. Feel free to use your imagination on this one--spontaneous explosion, hit by a car, whatever--but your characters have bit the big one. There is good news and bad news. They are both one in the same.

They will be dragged back into Discedo very much alive, but there will be something severely off. The world is dark or silent or they themselves will be rendered silent. Instantly they have lost their eyesight, hearing, or ability to speak, and none of these will be regained until later with the help of a scientist. That isn't the worst part though. Their missing sense will be accompanied by a strange feeling in their chest. It's actually kind of comforting. It's strong. It quickly grows and blossoms into something passionate, and almost feverish faith to the point of sheer delusion.

All directed at the Scientists.

Despite their condition, characters (regardless of their previous feelings of the Scientists) will fall under a borderline religious awe of them. They'll view them as veritable gods to be admired and feared. Sing their praises, write some scripture, and if you're feeling particularly bold, feel free to attack the heretics who dare to speak ill of such high beings. Though their missing sight, hearing, or speech will stay with them, this particular delusion will fade quickly at the end of the event.

Characters will not be missing these senses permanently; more details on when they will be restored will be posted at the end of the event. For now your job is to all be well and weather out the storm!

If it hasn't already been made apparent, Discedo will be closing as a standard DWRP relatively soon. If you haven't already voted, PLEASE OH PLEASE go vote! We'd like if everybody in Discedo had their chance to vote before the decision is made final!! Expect to hear from us sometime next month with deets! ALSO I've gotten a number of questions lately; if you have any PLEASE PM the mod account, or hit one of us up on AIM or Plurk! Keep the stuff in this post related to the meme if you could.

By my guess, Discedo should make its final transition AT THE LATEST sometime in January, and it could happen sooner or later depending on which way Discedo goes. I would recommend having any major plotting that you want to finish to wrap up probably by New Year's. That said!!

Game Feedback: Stage 2

Hello good Discedians! Hope you're all having a good day. This is the second part of the regular feedback post. Please make sure that you read this post in full, as it has some extremely important information that concerns everyone in the game. While it's not required to comment with reasoning, we greatly appreciate any input that may be involved.

THIS POST IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE IT.

This coming November, Discedo will be celebrating its fifth year anniversary. Some of you may already know that, others may not. It's been a HELL of a six years too with lots of great events, player plots, CR, and interactions. Old man Discedo really is an old man, and has seen many players come, go, and come back again because my golly who doesn't love this place?? We've had our hardships too, but we pulled through like complete troopers and we, as the current mod team, love you all dearly for being as fantastic as you've all been.

But, as we all know, all good things must come to an end in order to make way for other, equally fantastic things to continue to pave the road of, well, everything. Guess you guys can guess where this is heading at this point right?

Unfortunately, the current mod team have all reached a point in our lives which running a full blown DWRP is becoming too difficult for us to handle. Many of us are about to be wrapped into some very BIG changes in our lives, making modding a game possible. While we discussed the possibility of doing a mod overhaul, truth be told, the conclusion ended up being that Discedo's storyline has finally reached its final chapter. DON'T PANIC, we have choices for you guys, and as per usual, what happens with the game is completely up to you guys.

After discussing the issues, the mod team narrowed it down to a few choices which you guys can talk out and vote upon, so read carefully, think it over, and come back with your decisions.

» Game over
Self explanatory. Discedo will take the typical end route. The game will run as normal for some months with regular events in place before the final event, which will remain a SURPRISE until the very end (oh my o: ). After the final event, the game will be finished, and the moderators will no longer work on the game.

» Dressing Room
If it is the case that Discedo doesn't wish for the game to take a complete end, the game will switch over to Dressing Room format. Occasionally, say once a month, meme-esque events will be offered for two to three weeks, and players are welcome jump on board and goof around with each other. Many of the things typical of a game will cease to exist, such as regular plotting memes, HMD, and applications. If the DressingRoom route is something we take, Maresuke will take over as full time mod of the DR.

At present, there are still a LOT of details that need to be hashed out, on your end AND on ours, but we didn't want to move forward without having discussion with the playerbase. If the DressingRoom route is taken, there may be an extra feedback post to cover what else that may entail.

To those of you who are concerned about time frames you have to work with, Discedo will cease to be a full-blown game within two to four months. Later we'll have a more exact date, as both options could result in different time spans to work within.

Again, thank you everyone for all that you've been, we really appreciate all of you, and await your thoughts and ideas about the future of Discedo.

I've just gotten a full time job and so won't have very much spare time which sadly means I'm having to drop Gellert and also from the game. The job will go on until at least February and so I may then reapply at some point later but for now I'm going to have to go as I won't be able to pay the game the attention I want to.

I've met some great people here - I will continue/finish ongoing threads (slowly) if others want to - and I hope to continue to see you around!

HELLO DISCEDO DID YOU MISS ME?

Well I'm back now (sorta) so you can stop crying now.

My computer is all fixed, hopefully for good, so I'll be coming off hiatus with Norway and the Doctor, though I'll probably be slow for a few days. Yaaaay!

However, I will not be backdating anything unless someone asks because I just don't have the time allowance for it. If there was something you really wanted me to post in, then please let me know and I'll do my best.

Instead, I'm going to detail how the past few weeks went for these two;
I'm pretty sure you all know what Helen did while in the Doctor's body, but the Doctor in Helen's body basically did the same things he usually does, with a lot more complaining ("How do women stand having breasts, they're so inconveniant!")
Nor was in Namine's body which basically amounted to him not leaving the house. The only way you would have seen him is if you actually went to the Soup Kitchen.

Anyone wanna fill me in on what I've missed? :3

So I heard you guys liked crazy people to add more plots to this place, so here to add more fun to the game is Minatsuki Takami from Deadman Wonderland. She's a Deadman which means she can use her blood freely to attack people and make weapons.

Of course anyone who knows DW, knows that it's about a prison similar to Super Jail!. Anyways of course Minatsuki was/is an inmate.

Okay so enough babbling, here's the scoop: Minatsuki is a manipulative, sadistic, yandere, very very abusive, and has a mouth on her. However she also lies and acts like a sweet and innocent, virginal, and timid young girl to the people she first meets. However once people get to know her, she will use very violent, graphic words, and will make sexual comments. Terrible ones. Also she has a tongue piercing.

So anyone who does NOT want to be tagged by this character, you may leave a comment here, or on my plurk.

There are three stages to this forum:

Because obviously one of the busiest weeks of the semester had to be this week. Whoops.

So anyway, Marceline is getting her chip out. Among her powers is necromancy. You know where this is going. Her powers are going to raise the dead from the Discedo graveyard. Skeletons will claw their way out of the earth, moaning with the power of vampire evil in place of lungs. Her undead army will march upon living city's living inhabitants

and party like there's no tomorrow.

With instruments made out of bones and boogey fever, they will barge into the homes of participating characters and start a dance party. Oh sure, it might be fun at first, but when your dead you don't need to eat or sleep. It's no fun hanging out in the ground for years at a time. They want to let loose and have some fun! It's like a college party that never ends. Of course characters can crash, but the undead will continue to be loud and boisterous constantly. Try to physically stop them? They won't kill you, but they'll toss you out a window, lock you out of your home, or tie you to a lamp post somewhere while they continue to trash your house. When it's all over they'll happily crawl back into their graves and enjoy a nice little rest.

I MEANT TO POST THIS LIKE DAYS AGO SO IT'S. SHORT NOTICE SOB. But the event will go from September 30th to October 1. It's short, it's short notice, and it's among other chip stuff at a busy time of year, so obviously anyone is welcome to backdate/handwave/just be pissed off at cleaning up the wreckage the zombies left behind. Otherwise it's just a chance to have a little silly Adventure Time fun!
