weekend plot, part 1
Before I go on with what's happening tomorrow-- backdating for the events is allowed, as long as it's before the next mod post detailing the next event's start. We just don't want things to get too confusing by backdated posts happening when new events are due to take place. Additionally, you don't have to ask your teammate's permission before making a post about something that's happening with your team, unless the mod posts here say otherwise. You don't have to wait on other people to post for stuff for the event-- go right ahead!
After the loud howl of rage early in the morning, which has already been documented by Kairi in her journal, both of the teams will find that they have rather nasty surprises waiting for them.
First up, we're going to explain the mansion team's. Everyone is going to be awoken by the howls of rage-- and those in the mansion team are going to find that the lock on the door to the second floor has vanished. Of course, this isn't going to be good for anyone. If the team decides to split up and investigate, they're going to be assaulted by individual illusions. What does this mean? First of all, even if they don't split up, an illusion of someone they know will show up and attempt to lead them away or distract them entirely.
The illusions are going to occupy them for the whole day. Now, the grounds of the illusions are as follows: it can be someone in the city, or someone that isn't-- also being dead or alive isn't a factor either. Both are fine. The only person that will be able to see said illusion is the character that knows them. So ideally, one illusion per character. What happens with the illusion is up to the player and depending on who they choose-- injuring is fine, but no death, please. :D;; We would prefer it if they lived long enough for tomorrow's part of the plot. The illusion can attack them, catch up fora cup of tea and a bit of a chitchat, whatever. If you're unsure of what the rules are concerning this, then feel free to ask questions here. They can also explore with their illusion, but by the time Sunday hits, the illusions will vanish.
Upstairs isn't anything special-- all of the rooms don't have anything important in them. There's a guest bedroom, another, smaller bathroom, what seems to be a recreation room, and a dining room-- the dining room is the only thing that looks remotely well looked after. It's a table set for ten... curious, isn't it? Off the dining room leads a balcony to the outside. They can probably see the ruins of the city from there, if they so choose.
Now, the town team. Nothing much will happen to them until the sun is up-- there's still a really eerie feel to the place. However, when it's light enough to see, they'll start seeing some of the world's native animals. However... they look rather sick, and even if someone insists upon trying to feed them, they'll die within twenty four hours. The animals are completely harmless, and almost quite cute, if it wasn't for their sickly conditions. There's a whole range of them, so if you want clarification feel free to ask, but they're basically similar in a lot of ways to what you'd usually find in an average Earth town.
The mayor's house is now free to explore, too. If someone from the town team wants to comment here first and claim the item to be found, there's a few newspaper articles in there. The contents of those will be posted at the end of the update! But yes, it is a mayor's house. There are a lot of photos and medals and certificates lining the walls, but a lot of them look faded now-- though untouched for the most part.
Additionally, both of the teams may notice that rain is also starting to affect them. For those left in the city, the rain is also being accompanied by really bad hail. It's also so cold that any breaks from the rain may result in the puddles freezing over, though it's not quite cold enough for snow. Have tons of ice, instead!
Also, a note to those in the teams-- we highly encourage updates and comment logs so that you can interact with your teammates. They're there to interact with; PLEASE don't ignore them! Socialise, get to know one another-- you're going to need that familiarity sooner or later.
WHO: The town team. First one to comment to this post claiming the paper gets to read it first.
WHAT: Newspaper articles.
WHERE: The mayor's house.
WHAT IT SAYS: These, like everything else in the house, are rather faded. But that aside, they're relatively intact. All of them seem to mention this "Accido" place, though there's one that stands out in particular...
--reports are circulating throughout the city about a bomb threat received from the city of Accido on-- [there's a little bit missing, here, but it should be relatively obvious as to what is missing]
All that is known at this stage is that Accido is indeed manufacturing bombs: consequently, at this point in time, such threats aren't a surprise to the citizens of the city that have been threatened. The pandemic has now reached dangerous levels of infection and fatalities, and there are little options left to either party in this tragedy. Whether the scientists are going to come up with a cure in good enough time remains to be seen-- they seem to be keeping rather silent on the matter.
What was once a bustling, successful town is fast deteriorating. Hopefully, it isn't too late for the city, and that the cure will be administered soon before too much irreparable, permanent damage is done-- both to its people and to its reputation.
Perhaps having the city bombed is the only silver lining of the cloud in this situation.
WHO: Poo.
WHAT: Cassette tape.
WHERE: The hospital.
WHAT IT SAYS: He'll need to ask Wesker nicely if he can borrow that old cassette tape. Sorry about that.
It isn’t right what we’re doing- but for the “greater good” we must. Drastic measures, and all that. But even in these bad times, is experimenting on humans first really how far we’ve gone?
It’s all empty promises, what we say to them, but it brings people in. Volunteers to find a cure, by injecting them with the virus. And then calmly taking down notes. What works, what doesn’t?
I volunteered myself. Out of all the risks I’ve taken, this is no doubt the craziest one yet.
But… if I have a chance to save her-
Along with that, I’ve been looking at the virus in animals as well. Curing humans is the main priority, but… I might be able to find something by taking the other road.
